Why Castor Oil?

Castor oil has a long history of traditional use in external body-care and self-care rituals across many cultures. It is valued for its thick texture, rich feel, and ability to gently exfoliate and deeply condition the skin when applied topically, helping to stimulate circulation and dissolve areas of congestion within the body. We now know that an unsaturated fatty acid, called ricinoleic acid is largely responsible for these actions.

When used in body wraps or packs, castor oil is commonly incorporated into grounding routines focused on relaxation, intentional rest, and mindful body awareness.

Why Use a Pack?

Body packs are traditionally used as part of slow, intentional self-care practices. Many people enjoy using packs during moments of stillness, such as meditation, journaling, or rest, as a way to disconnect from daily stress and reconnect with the body.

These practices are rooted in holistic traditions that emphasize patience, comfort, and consistency rather than rushed outcomes.

How to Use the Pack

Apply a few tablespoons of castor oil to the removable cotton pad. Wrap and secure the pack comfortably around the abdomen. Wear for at least 2 hours or overnight, based on personal preference.

Some users also apply a small amount of oil to the navel area before securing the pack. While wearing the pack, focus on slow, deep breathing to encourage relaxation.

After removing the pack, gently massage any remaining oil into the skin until absorbed.
